“ Honestly, incredible experience at Katsuya. The food was amazing, not a single thing that I didn't like. All of the sashimi/fish was fresh and delicious. We ordered seconds of everything because we couldn't get enough. Spicy tuna crispy rice was a huge hit. We also loved the Australian wagyu. The cocktails were delicious and so was the creamy sake. Had a big client dinner here and the staff was so accommodating. They helped us move to a larger table that was more comfortable for our group size. Food came out fast too! The restaurant wasn't too busy which was nice. Bathrooms were trippy tho! If you're a bit tipsy, beware LOL ”
“ Great service and food at Katsura. It is very easy to valet your car and get seated quickly with a reservation. You can also use the inKind app here which is nice. ”
“ Always great. Never got disappointed. Amazing place for after party. It's in Hollywood among lots of theaters and Shopping places and you can always go there for delicious sushi. ”
“ I came here for a little late Valentines celebrations and this place went over the top. Usually I hate going out to celebrate VDAY but I wanted to make my girlfriend happy and she wanted to eat sushi. The decor was so nice and romantic. The butter beer drink they have was delicious and the presentation is top notch! TBH it was better than the one you get at universal studios. The food was so fresh and the service was great. I will be returning with or without my girl. ”
“ Great atmosphere. We were offered to sit at the bar if we wanted to be seated right away, and we took the offer. I think next time, I would want to sit in the beautiful dining room because the overall atmosphere is beautiful. We watched as the Sushi chefs at the bar work to put some stunning plates together. The service was average, maybe because we were seated at the bar. It was our first visit here, so we weren't quite sure what to order. For our appetizers, we ordered the Chicken Katsu Bites and Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice. We enjoyed them both!!! Our main dishes were the Katsuya roll and Corn Roll that came with miso soup. Both were average rolls. We did enjoy the contemporary atmosphere. I would definitely like to return with a larger crowd and try other dishes and take in the atmosphere. The hostesses deserve a shout out for being so kind and lovely. ”
“ We ordered three sushi sets, each including 4 spicy tuna crispy rice, 2 specialty rolls, and 12 pieces of sashimi. Since we ordered so much, it took a while to come out, but that's because the set is served all at once. For the specialty rolls, they typically give two assorted ones per set, but the staff accommodated us by making all six rolls different, so we got to try a good variety. The rolls were decent, and out of all of them, I enjoyed the Double Spicy Tuna Roll the most. The Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice had good flavor, but it wasn't as crispy as I'd like and could have used more spice. The assorted nigiri was okay--nothing standout--but the Scallop Sashimi was amazing. That's definitely my new favorite sashimi piece. The only thing I didn't enjoy was a roll wrapped in cucumber--it just wasn't my thing. We also ordered the Wagyu Ishiyaki (6 pieces of A5 Wagyu). It tasted exactly like what Wagyu is supposed to taste like--high fat content, super rich--but personally, I'm not a huge fan of Wagyu. I prefer American-style steak with more tenderness and less fat. Service was great--the staff was friendly and attentive, constantly refilling our waters and making small accommodations like customizing our rolls. Even small details stood out, like when I went to the restroom, they folded new napkins for me at my seat. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and would come back! ”
“ Right on the corner of Hollywood Boulevard sits this little gem! We decided to try the Katsuya Tasting so we could try multiple items. First came spicy tuna nigiri on crispy rice. The crunch of the rice truly accentuated the spicy tuna topping. Next came the Hokkaido Scallop sashimi, which was excellent. The delicate taste and texture of the scallops are highlighted in this dish. Next came thinly sliced Wagyu beef, which we cooked on a hot stone right at our table. Need I say more? And finally, the shirt ribs, which came in a mildly sweet, soy glaze. They were tender, flavorful, and downright sumptuous. It is a bit spendy here, but hey, it's downtown LA. Worth trying if you are in the area. ”
“ This was my second visit to this location. Arrived early for our 9:15pm on a Saturday night and were seated immediately. There was a live DJ inside that wasn't too loud. The ambiance inside is nice, dimly lit and nicely decorated. When I go to sushi places I like to order as I eat, which is why I appreciated that our server came by several times to check on us. For drinks, we tried the Harajuku Girl, Kyoto Sour, and The Bushi. The Harajuku girl reminded me of a Sangria and was delicious. The Bushi was like a sweet old fashion. As for the food, I mostly come here for their Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice. Their fish is always so fresh and the crispy rice is perfectly crispy. We also tried the Baked Crab Handrolls, which was perfect because it comes with 2. This was another favorite of ours. Their specialty rolls are hit or miss to me. The Salmon Lemon roll was really tasty, however the double spicy tuna was overpowered with cucumber which was disappointing because I felt like I was tasting that more than anything else and we ended up p it out. Upon return, i'd probably skip their specialty rolls and try something else. ”
“ Such an experience. We got reservations about a month before. There was a live DJ, not sure if they're always there but we were there on a Saturday. There's a bar with about 8-10 seats, not sure if you need reservations for that. I don't remember the names of every dish but we got everything from oysters to sashimi, hand rolls to mushrooms. Everything was amazing. I especially loved the Waygu ishiyaki.... melts in your mouth. Tasted just like the one we had in Asia. Great experience! Not an everyday thing but definitely wouldn't mind going again. Everyone was so nice and helpful. The vibe was very calm, yet a hint of romance mixed with hip vibes. Oh parking! They have valet parking but there is a structure nearby, not sure if it's just for the show but that was $10 after 6pm. ”
